With all the negativity going on around the globe, it is a difficult time and probably very stressful for any kind of celebration. Having Rakshabandhan around the corner, we caught up with Dr. Aarti Dahiya and talked to her about how to keep the environment of the home positive, what colour to wear, mantras, and much more. Do read the interview to get more insights.
The effect and fear of this pandemic are still prevalent around the world. In such a situation, how do you think will Rakshabandhan will be affected?
Dr. Aarti Dahiya: While keeping in mind the social distancing agenda and safety of all our near and dear ones, it is important that we do not indulge in any social/ family gathering at this point of time. But I totally understand, as a result of this, the craze of the celebration is going downward. It is sad how siblings who live in different cities and just meet on such an occasion will not be able to spend time together. However, I think this is for the best that we do not flow in emotions and spread the virus further.
How can a person keep the environment at home positive?
Dr. Aarti Dahiya: According to me, one can use incense aroma oils in diffusers to make their house smell good which would in return bring calm aura in that space. Also, one can try to play soothing meditation music in low-volume for about 15 minutes a day. Even if one cannot celebrate the festivals right now, the least one can do is to have one meal with the entire family along with happy conversations.
What kind of Pooja or mantras should people chant on the auspicious occasion like Rakhi?
Dr. Aarti Dahiya: The foremost thing on that day should be a little time with the Almighty. Offer the first Rakhi thread to any God; this will bring positivity in your relationship. Also, while doing so, one can chant Durga beej mantra or Hanuman Chalisa.
What time and the direction are most suitable to celebrate the festivities?
Dr. Aarti Dahiya: The auspicious timings will start after 9:25 AM and brothers should always face the rising sun while doing rituals of Raksha Bandhan as it will bring great opportunities in their lives.
What colour do you recommend for sisters to wear while tying that thread of love on brothers’ wrist?
Dr. Aarti Dahiya: Sisters can wear any shade of green, off-white and pink, it will bring fortune in their lives.
