‘Super Singh’ Samarpan Singh shares his secrets to embracing multiple passions

Samarpan Singh’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. From excelling in the medical field to founding a successful tech startup, and now making his foray into Bollywood, this multitalented individual has proven his versatility time and again. In this exclusive interview to QNA India, Samarpan opens up about his diverse accomplishments and his upcoming Bollywood debut.
You’ve had an impressive career trajectory, from being a doctor to an entrepreneur and now an actor. What inspired this remarkable transition?
Samarpan Singh: My journey has indeed been quite diverse, but I’ve always been driven by a desire to push the boundaries of what’s possible. As a doctor, I was passionate about helping people, but I also recognized the need for innovative solutions in the healthcare and e-commerce sectors. That’s what led me to start my data analytics company, which was a game-changer in addressing the high return rates on cash-on-delivery orders in India.
Now, my foray into acting is a natural extension of my love for storytelling and creative expression. I’ve always been fascinated by the power of cinema to inspire and entertain, and I’m excited to bring my unique perspective to the silver screen.
Can you tell us more about your upcoming Bollywood debut, ‘Pad Gaye Pange’? What can audiences expect from this film?
Samarpan Singh: ‘Pad Gaye Pange’ is a heartwarming and hilarious story about friendship, resilience, and the human spirit. It follows the lives of a bank manager, his childhood mentor, and his best friend, whose lives take an unexpected turn when they are both diagnosed with cancer.
The film is a blend of comedy and drama, and it features a talented ensemble cast, including Rajesh Sharma, Rrajesh Yadav, Faisal Malik, and Varsha Rekhate. Under the direction of Santosh Kumar and the production of the renowned Mahaveer Jain Films, I’m confident that ‘Pad Gaye Pange’ will offer audiences a truly memorable cinematic experience.
As a doctor-turned-entrepreneur-turned-actor, what advice would you give to others who are considering a career change or exploring multiple passions?
Samarpan Singh: My advice would be to never limit yourself or your potential. Embrace your diverse interests and skills, and don’t be afraid to take calculated risks. The key is to stay curious, adaptable, and driven. Pursue your passions with dedication and a willingness to learn, and you’ll be surprised by the doors that can open.
At the end of the day, it’s not about following a linear path, but about creating a fulfilling and meaningful life. So, don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and explore new possibilities. The journey may be unconventional, but it can be incredibly rewarding.
What has been the most challenging aspect of your transition into acting, and how have you overcome those challenges?
Samarpan Singh: The transition into acting has certainly presented its fair share of challenges. As someone who has primarily worked in the medical and entrepreneurial fields, the world of filmmaking was entirely new to me. From understanding the nuances of character development to navigating the technical aspects of the craft, it’s been a steep learning curve.
However, I’ve approached this new endeavour with the same dedication and passion that I’ve applied to my previous pursuits. I’ve immersed myself in acting workshops, studied the craft extensively, and worked closely with the director and my co-stars to hone my skills. It’s been a humbling experience, but one that has also allowed me to grow and expand my creative horizons.
The most rewarding aspect has been the opportunity to collaborate with such a talented team on ‘Pad Gaye Pange.’ The director, Santosh Kumar, has been an invaluable mentor, guiding me through the process and helping me find the right balance between my natural instincts and the demands of the role. It’s been a true collaborative effort, and I’m grateful for the support and guidance I’ve received along the way.
How do you hope to use your platform as a Bollywood actor to make a positive impact, both on and off the screen?
Samarpan Singh: As an actor, I believe I have a unique opportunity to use my platform to inspire and uplift others. Through the stories I choose to tell and the characters I bring to life, I hope to shed light on important social issues, challenge stereotypes, and promote messages of hope, resilience, and human connection.
With ‘Pad Gaye Pange,’ for instance, I’m excited to explore themes of friendship, empathy, and the power of community in the face of adversity. By portraying characters who navigate the challenges of illness and uncertainty with humour, courage, and unwavering support for one another, I hope to send a powerful message about the transformative nature of human relationships.
Beyond the screen, I’m also committed to using my voice and resources to make a tangible difference in the world. Whether it’s supporting charitable initiatives, advocating for important causes, or inspiring others to pursue their own dreams, I believe that actors have a unique responsibility to use their platform for the greater good.
My journey has taught me the importance of embracing one’s passions, challenging oneself, and never underestimating the power of determination and resilience. It’s my hope that by sharing my story, I can encourage others to embark on their own extraordinary journeys, and to never lose sight of the incredible potential that lies within each of us.
