Living life in a very ordinary way, Kanika Sharma became a blogger and Instagram influencer before she knew. Kanika, who has her blog with the name ‘Her Creative Palace’, talks about how she got into this field, what is her approach and frequency with content, advice for budding bloggers, and much more:

How did you decide to become an influencer blogger? Was it a thoughtful choice?

Kanika: Whatever I have done in my life has never been planned! And that is exactly how I entered into the world of blogging and then ended up being both a blogger and an influencer. The entire process includes sheer learning and that is what I have been doing for 6 years now. I decided to become an influencer blogger as it helps me being connected to the amazing brands in the market as well as to my beautiful audience. It has given me recognition and also, with this tag I am continuously updated in the area of fashion and beauty.

Yes, it was a pure thoughtful choice as I studied all the ins and outs of being an influencer blogger. It really has educated me in so many areas and I feel proud to be up-to-date in the fashion and beauty corners of this creative field.

Do your collaboration with brands/products for promotional activities?

Kanika: It completely depends upon the brands and what their requirements are. As an influencer blogger, my role is to just educate my followers about what is new in the market. There have been instances where I have worked with the start-ups just to give that little push to their business in the market.

Any brand would reach out to me for promotional activities but sometimes, there are some good causes attached to the same.

What is your content frequency? And how important is to create regular content?

Kanika: What I have learned over the period of 6 years is that even if you are not regular in posting content on your blog, you must be very much active on all the social media channels. By doing this, you are more connected to the people who follow you and literally wait for your next post.

I post almost daily on my social media channels, but I blog twice or thrice a week. The posting of content on a regular basis does not make you disappear from the social world, which is an important thing for any influencer or blogger to follow to stay connected with the people who actually love what you do.

Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?

Kanika: It is neither a profession nor any hobby! I have nurtured my blog just like my own baby from ‘zero’. And I have always said that it is pure PASSION to blog on the topics I am attracted towards. So, it is my passion!

A lot of people think that influencer blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog?

Kanika: If you are someone who wants to enter into this industry just for money, I would suggest not doing so. Anything you take needs dedication and hard work. You would not believe this but I got an invitation to my first blogging event after 3 years! I never craved for money as I told you that blogging has always been my passion.

I can give you just one simple tip: accelerate that paddle of blogging and just get started. You will be noticed one day, for sure. Just be pure and loyal towards what you do, and no need to listen to what others have to say.

The only point you come to know that you have achieved success is when people start saying negative or bad things about you. At this point, put in more efforts!

Your favorite place to hang around in Delhi?

Kanika: I personally love visiting lavish and royal places around in Delhi. I am a big coffee lover and reading love stories is another thing I simply love. I look for a good coffee shop in the city and take a novel along with me. When I crave for reading novels, I just visit Café Coffee Day, Punjabi Bagh along with the book. I grab a coffee and there I am; sitting quietly at one corner and enjoying the thing I love to do the most.

Music and Mountains in South Delhi is my current favourite as the place is filled with great food, good ambiance, and superb music.
