Jennifer Thompson started her fitness career as a competitive athlete in college track & field, participating in the heptathlon and pole-vault. With 10 years in the fitness industry, she has gained experience in a variety of its facets.

Jennifer is Nspire Sports League’s Co-Founder, an Entrepreneur and gym addict. She loves to travel world, workout, cheat meals & words of encouragement.

What did you find more enthralling. Swimming or Gyming?

Jennifer: Gyming is my passion!  I do enjoy swimming too – I actually used to teach an elective swimming course at a University and watching the students progress, learn new skills and even lose weight in the process was very enthralling!

Do you think you have achieved what you dreamed to achieve?

Jennifer: I have achieved many dreams beyond what I had ever hoped to achieve.  But, my biggest dream is NSL (Nspire Sports league)… I am the Co-founder of a brand new fitness competition league- The Nspire Sports League, NSL.  It is a world wide league focused on the idea of living healthy and competing healthy.  Our pillars of principles comprise of Opportunity, Equality, Exclusivity and Transparency. We believe that the athlete comes first  and should be treated with respect, honor and dignity. We use technology in every aspect of our events and go over and above to make sure the athletes, fans, vendors and sponsors have an amazing experience – the #NSLExperience! We also already have an Indian NSL Men’s Physique Beach Pro and are planning on hosting an event in India in 2017. For more info please email [email protected] and check out our website.

What is your perception regarding fitness?

Jennifer: My perception is that fitness is a lifelong journey. There are many different ways, many different theories and styles to be fit.  But I think that the best fitness plan is the one that works for you! Don’t try to fit yourself into a certain box.  Find what you enjoy and simultaneously keeps you fit and healthy apart from allowing you to adopt the lifestyle that you desire.  And also don’t make your fitness plan too complicated.  Keep it simple.  Results are guaranteed if you stay consistent in just the basics of eating a healthy balanced diet and working out for 20-30 minutes a day.  Conquer the simple and then the desire to achieve more will naturally be born within you!

What are your 3 favorite exercises?

Jennifer: Lat pulldowns, deadlifts and glute bridges.

Do you ever feel like you’ve been judged unfairly because of what you do?

Jennifer: Yes.  But people are afraid of what they don’t understand.  We all as humans make unfair judgments on people so when it happens to me I just let it roll off because it is usually their lack of knowledge that makes them judge.  I pray that their eyes will be opened to the truth of health and fitness and if I have the opportunity I will teach them what I can, not only about what I do but why i do that.   Knowledge is power.  After they have the knowledge, they have the power to change their own lives instead of being afraid of the unknown and making unfair judgement and statements.

You are a travel lover, What’s your favourite place on earth?

Jennifer: This is hard to answer because I have been to so many places around the world and I love a piece of all of them!  BUT if I had to choose my very favorite…I would have to say Bora Bora.  Heaven on earth!

Do you dare to share your bad habits

Jennifer: I do enjoy a good bottle of wine and anything chocolate.

Is there something you regret doing in your life?

Jennifer: My biggest regret is caring too much about what other people think and letting it affect my own personal life and decisions.  The older I get the more confident I become, but with how easy it is now for people to bully on social media and say anything and everything…it makes me apprehensive to put myself fully out there sometimes just because of the fear of being trashed for being me.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Jennifer: Once in Thailand I tried a special duck egg that was fermented in acid… and I also ate a tiny Thai chili hot pepper that instantly had my body burst into tears and even ate some fried worms and a cricket. lol when in Thailand….

What’s turns you on?

Jennifer: Confidence, someone with standards and a love for God, good old fashioned manners, humor, and having a healthy lifestyle

If you had just one wish, what would it be?

Jennifer: That everyone in the world would know they are special just the way they are and that they are loved.

What’s your favourite meal?

Jennifer: Tacos, black beans, cilantro rice with fresh guacamole.
