Madeleine Matar: I am an open book with no secret

Lebanese singer known for her albums Dayeb Albe and Bahebak Wadari. She has also worked as an actress, appearing on Lebanese TV and in Egyptian movies. She made her first musical connections while attending the Institute of Music. Her first album was called Raydah. She also attended the Higher National Institute, where she studied Oriental singing.

Excerpt from an interaction with Madeleine.

From performing in front of thousands of fans to daily interviews and signing autographs, how do you keep up your energy?

Madeleine: Spending the day with my fans and signing autographs is the energy of my life… my fans are my precious gems and the power of my soul.

What are you most passionate about?

Madeleine: Most passionate thing is my work. I feel totally alive when I am on stage singing or even acting… but if you are asking about something private I adore racing and swimming.

You started of as a Singer and then shifted to movies. Was this conscious? Did you always want to become an actor?

Madeleine: Yes, first of all I am a singer and all the directors of my video clips told me that I am a good actress but with time I had many offers from movie directors and I chose the best of these offers and thank God they got me huge success.

Are you a bathroom singer?

Madeleine: Loool I loved this question… in the beginning yes I was a bathroom singer and I think we all are. even you.. but now with time  I don’t think that I am anymore.

What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?

Madeleine: Well it is a difficult question maybe I would like to be a ballerina dancer. Loool really I don’t know but I love everything involved with arts.

Do you think you have achieved what you dreamt of?

Madeleine: Not at all, we as artists have no limits to our dreams.. we work so hard and after every dream that we achieve, we search for a new one… Dreams have no limits for me.

What are some of the best gifts you’ve gotten from fans?

Madeleine: OMG many beautiful things and I thank them all and I love them so much but best ones are:

• A cat
• A track full of red roses and 2 white roses inside.
• Mugs, pillows and t-shirts having my pictures

What are the perks of dating you?

Good looking, Funny, Loyal and Wealthy J

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Madeleine: Ooh many thing but the craziest one is when I dived with sharks 2 years ago.

What gives you goosebumps?

Madeleine: Looool your questions are amazing and made me smile all the time. What gives me the goosebumps is when I think of my village and my old friends in school and especially my childhood friends whom I am in contact even today.

One lesser known secret about you?

Madeleine: Well I am an open book and I have no secrets but lets us just say I am a big fan of  Mahamata Gandhi and Bollywood.

Have you ever been to India? Are you open to with Indian Musicians/Singers?

Madeleine: Too bad that I did not yet visit this lovely and amazing country and no I have no contact with Indian musicians and singers but I would love to sing one day an Indian song or even make a duo with one of the Indian singers no matter man or woman…
